CREATIVE CLOSEUP: Tobacconomics Website

Our client Tobacconomics, located at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Institute for Health Research and Policy, conducts economic research to inform and shape fiscal policies for health. Tobacconomics needed a modern website that provided a visually powerful platform for accessing key information about their projects. Alamini Creative Group created the strategy, design and development of a new website that provided an enhanced experience for users. Among the features ACG developed are:

• A custom-built front end and Content Management System (CMS) to meet the organization’s visual, content and functionality needs and allow for flexible future expansion. It also allows the client to easily make edits and additions to the website.

• A searchable database of research articles with a drill down menu of search criteria.

• An interactive Tobacco Scorecard where viewers can access stats and scoring for 160 countries*.

Alamini Creative Group's work for Tobacconomics recently received a 2021 GDUSA American Web Design award. 

*The Tobacconomics Cigarette Tax Scorecard scores cigarette tax policy performance in 160 countries using data from the World Health Organization, providing policy makers with an actionable assessment. This 2nd Edition, for which ACG developed the creative, shows that governments have made insufficient progress in addressing the world’s leading cause of preventable death, despite evidence that tobacco taxation would reduce smoking and increase tax revenues.
