CREATIVE CLOSEUP: UNDP Prevention of Violent Extremism 2021 Annual Report
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) advocates for and leads development-based approaches to address violent extremism through its global Prevention of Violent Extremism (PVE) portfolio. The UNDP’s PVE team at the Crisis Bureau in New York supports and advances these efforts through thought leadership, research and evidence-based policy development.
To recap the UNDP’s key achievements, lessons and learnings from their global PVE portfolios, the organization asked Alamini Creative Group to develop the design of their Prevention of Violent Extremism: 2021 Annual Report. The report serves as a powerful promotional tool to raise awareness and donor support for the PVE portfolio. By their nature, annual reports are often stacked with numerical information and pages of dense information, often making them tedious reads.
ACG strategized a bold and graphical approach to the report’s design by integrating illustrations to convey each of the nine areas of key accomplishments. The use of larger fonts and a vibrant color palette help to visually guide the reader through the layout while highlighting key concepts. The choice of a powerful cover image conveys the effects of violent extremism on a community.
This dynamic report design supports and advances the PVE team’s mission of disseminating lessons and best practices.
